Deals Rumor Mill: Sharp, Synaptics, Carlson

By Benjamin Horney (January 21, 2016, 5:23 PM EST) -- Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., also known as Foxconn, has made a roughly 625 billion yen ($5.3 billion) takeover offer from struggling tech company Sharp Corp., according to a Thursday report from The Wall Street Journal. According to the report, Sharp is also considering a bid from Innovation Network Corp. of Japan that is apparently worth about 300 billion yen. INCJ is the preferred bidder because it would keep Sharp under Japanese control, the report noted, but Hon Hai's offer is worth way more. Hon Hai's interest has been reported for a few months now....
