AT&T To Pay Cell Tower Technician $30M Over 50-Ft. Fall

Law360 (May 21, 2018, 4:49 PM EDT) -- A cellphone tower technician has reached a $30 million settlement in a case against AT&T over a 50-foot fall he took from a Pennsylvania tower he says did not have proper safety features, his attorneys announced Monday.

Thomas Jeglum, who remains in a full-time neuro-rehabilitation facility, according to his attorneys, claimed in the suit that both AT&T, which owned the Allentown, Pennsylvania, tower, and the service company that maintained it knew it was unsafe but did not choose to make upgrades that could have prevented his fall.
