Consumer Raises Stink Over Pheromone Cologne Ad Claims

Law360, Chicago (October 28, 2011, 2:51 PM EDT) -- An Illinois consumer launched a putative class action against the sellers of so-called pheromone cologne and perfume in state court Thursday, alleging they have falsely marketed the products as scientifically proven to make users more attractive to the opposite sex.

Lead plaintiff Brett Vollmar accuse AtLast Holdings Inc., ANR Int Inc. and ANR director Alexander Yakubov of shilling their Pherlure Pheromone cologne and perfume with false claims that they contain pheromones and that scientific studies have backed up their claimed benefits of obtaining the user more dates and self-confidence, among other allegedly fake effects.
