Ex-PEMGroup Exec Settles Receiver's Suit Over Ponzi Scheme

Law360, Los Angeles (July 3, 2012, 5:37 PM EDT) -- The former managing director of California-based Private Equity Management Group Inc. on Friday resolved a negligence suit launched by the investment firm's receiver that accused him of facilitating a multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme.

U.S. District Judge Phillip Gutierrez granted an order dismissing all claims against Todd D. Gillespie lodged by PEMGroup's court-appointed receiver. Parties filed a joint stipulation dismissing the lawsuit after the parties announced that they settled the case last month.
