Market Rumors: BHP Billiton, Blackstone, Bank Of Montreal
By Benjamin Horney ( September 25, 2014, 5:18 PM EDT) -- Australian mining giant BHP Billiton may seek to list a new global metals and mining company, currently being referred to as NewCo., on the London Stock Exchange, according to a Thursday report from the New York Times. The report said BHP decided to look into a listing in London after meeting with a number of investors beginning in late August, when it first made public its intentions to spin off some of its business into a new entity, including its aluminum and manganese businesses, Cerro Matoso Nickel in Colombia, Energy Coal South Africa, Illawarra Metallurgical Coal and Cannington Silver-Lead-Zinc mines in Australia.
