Hammons Hotels and Resorts hit Chapter 11 on Sunday, filing court papers in Kansas saying that "all-consuming" litigation over a 2005 acquisition deal might force it to sell its 35 hotels at a steep discount and it needs breathing room from the proceedings to protect its $1 billion in assets and creditors owed about the same amount....
