Jury Deadlocks In Latest Trial Over J&J Talc And Asbestos

Law360 (May 25, 2018, 5:37 PM EDT) -- A South Carolina jury hearing the latest trial over the alleged link between Johnson & Johnson talcum powder products and asbestos-related cancer said Friday it could not decide if J&J was responsible for the mesothelioma that killed a 30-year-old attorney, leading to a mistrial.

The Hartsville jury was considering plaintiff Antoine Bostic’s claim that his late wife and law partner Bertila Boyd-Bostic’s fatal mesothelioma was caused by allegedly asbestos-containing baby powder made by Johnson & Johnson Consumer and sold by Rite Aid of South Carolina Inc....
