Military aviation is inherently dangerous. It includes high performance combat aircraft training for and flying combat missions, sometimes with live weapons, where mission achievement has priority; fixed wing transports, helicopters and hybrid MV-22s providing tactical support under hazardous conditions; shipboard operations with their unique dangers and demands; and search and rescue operations in difficult circumstances with lives at stake.
