NJ High Court Stays Accutane Case, Weighs Judge's Recusal

Law360, New York (January 9, 2014, 8:03 PM EST) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court on Thursday stayed personal injury litigation over Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd.'s acne drug Accutane while it considers whether to boot the presiding judge from the cases.

In August, Roche asked the Supreme Court for leave to appeal Judge Carol Higbee's denial of its motion seeking her recusal from the litigation, which includes more than 7,700 lawsuits claiming Accutane users developed inflammatory bowel disease and other injuries as a result of taking the drug.
