Total, Endo Units Hit With Vaginal Mesh Suit In Texas

Law360, Houston (February 24, 2014, 9:15 PM EST) -- Units of petrochemical giant Total SA and Endo Health Solutions Inc. were hit with a suit in Texas court on Monday by a group of 90 women who say they were injured by transvaginal mesh implants.

The plaintiffs say that American Medical Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Endo, marketed defective vaginal mesh products that were manufactured using polypropylene resin acquired from Houston-based Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA Inc. After being implanted with the devices, the plaintiffs suffered debilitating injuries, according to the suit.
