Volkswagen Jetta Air Bag 'Flayed' Woman's Arm, Suit Says

Law360, New York (January 22, 2016, 7:04 PM EST) -- Volkswagen and an auto parts maker are liable for an allegedly defective air bag that deployed with such force that it "flayed" a woman's forearm, a couple claims in a suit filed Thursday in Georgia federal court.

Brenda and Charles Timmons sued Volkswagen AG and its U.S. arm, Volkswagen Group of America Inc., along with air bag and seat belt manufacturer TRW Vehicle Safety Systems Inc. The couple claims the companies are to blame for the permanent disfigurement Brenda Timmons suffered because of the driver's side air bag in her 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.
