Atty. In Pa. Pay-To-Play Schemes Faces License Suspension

Law360 (March 8, 2018, 9:39 PM EST) -- A political consultant who recently pled guilty in connection with a pair of pay-to-play schemes in the Pennsylvania cities of Reading and Allentown saw his law license ordered suspended Thursday by the state’s Supreme Court.

James Hickey, the sole proprietor of business consultancy Sovereign Enterprises and a longtime operator in state politics, consented to the suspension of his law license after copping to charges in December stemming from two separate indictments alleging that he’d worked to steer lucrative city contracts to political donors.
