Cable Group Opposes Temporary Channel Assignments

Law360, Washington (November 1, 2016, 7:57 PM EDT) -- The Internet & Television Association, a trade association for cable and internet providers, wrote Monday in support of the Federal Communication Commission’s tentative plan to forego temporary channel assignments during the transition period following an incentive auction to convert broadcast spectrum to wireless service use.

The FCC floated the idea of temporary channel assignments as a means to reduce costs, inconvenience and interference as broadcast stations migrate following the incentive auction process in a public notice on the repacking process released in September.
