Lesbian Couple Urges High Court To Punt Hawaii B&B Suit

Law360 (February 4, 2019, 4:28 PM EST) -- A lesbian couple urged the U.S. Supreme Court to refuse to review a Honolulu bed-and-breakfast owner's claims that she was within her rights to deny a room to the couple because of their sexual orientation, arguing that the contested decision in the case is not yet final.

Diane Cervelli and Taeko Bufford told the court Friday that because the ruling at the heart of Aloha Bed & Breakfast's appeal is not a final ruling from the state's highest court, the U.S. Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over the case.
