Cannabis Co. Sues After Boston Denies Dispensary Permit

Law360 (February 24, 2021, 8:34 PM EST) -- A Massachusetts marijuana operator is suing the Boston Zoning Board of Appeals after it refused to allow the company to open a recreational dispensary in the city's Brighton neighborhood, saying the board ignored its own criteria to reject the permit.

New England Cannabis Corp. signed a host community agreement with the city of Boston to open a recreational dispensary, and the city gave its official OK to the dispensary based on plans for the shop in Brighton, according to the suit, filed in Suffolk County Superior Court on Feb. 16.
