Top Senate Dem Says OCC Shakeup Is 'Exact Right Move'

Law360 (May 4, 2021, 9:06 PM EDT) -- The chairman of the Senate Banking Committee said Tuesday that it's the "exact right move" for the Biden administration to install a new interim leader at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, stressing a need for progressive action at the national bank regulator.

Speaking at a National Community Reinvestment Coalition conference, Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio., said he'd like to see the White House fill the top job at the OCC "a little faster," but he welcomed reports that a temporary replacement has been lined up for Blake Paulson, the current acting comptroller.
