Oldest Independent School In US Reaps $97M In Campus Sale

Law360, New York (May 6, 2013, 1:47 PM EDT) -- The owners of New York's Collegiate School, the oldest independently-run school in the U.S., are selling the school's Upper West Side campus for $97 million to the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, according to court papers filed Thursday.

Nonprofits Collegiate School Inc. and West End Plaza Holding Corp. filed a petition in New York state court last week for permission to sell the building in order to trade up to a bigger space that it plans to build about 16 blocks away.
