NYC Planning Agency Backs 15-Year Permit For MSG

Law360, New York (May 7, 2013, 6:49 PM EDT) -- The staff of the New York City Department of City Planning on Monday recommended to the City Planning Commission that it approve a special permit allowing Madison Square Garden to continue operating at the arena's current Midtown location for 15 years.

The recommendation comes after local civic leaders and community boards argued that the special permit should be limited to 10 years. The staff's proposal at a Monday meeting suggested that allowing the permit to conditionally operate for 15 years would be a preferable outcome....
