Gray Reed Scoops Up Baker Botts Tax Partner

Law360, New York (September 16, 2014, 6:52 PM EDT) -- Gray Reed & McGraw has lured a 20-year Baker Botts veteran over to its Houston office to work on joint venture structuring and tax planning, the firm said Monday.

Daniel H. Kroll said that leaving the firm where he spent his entire career was a hard choice to make. He said that while Baker Botts is an "awesome" firm with great lawyers, the clients he wants to represent are moving to smaller firms, fleeing the big players' rising costs. From a business perspective, moving to Gray Reed was an easier choice, Kroll said.
