Long-Shot Bill Aims To Raise Fla. Minimum Wage To $15

Law360, Miami (July 23, 2015, 4:29 PM EDT) -- The call for a $15-an-hour minimum wage has come to the Florida Legislature in the first bill filed for the 2016 session, but past efforts suggest the measure faces steep odds of success.

Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Cutler Bay, filed S.B. 6 on Wednesday, roughly six months ahead of the legislative session's start in January. He has sponsored similar bills calling for a $10.10 state minimum each of the past two sessions, but both died in the Senate's Commerce and Tourism Committee.
