Judge Tosses 'Mentally Ill' Ex-DHB Exec's Bid For New Trial

Law360, New York (June 12, 2013, 8:10 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge Wednesday shot down a bid for a new trial by the founder of body-armor maker DHB Industries Inc., who was convicted of insider trading in 2010, finding nothing new to support the executive’s claims of being mentally incompetent to stand trial.

U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert denied David H. Brooks’ motion for reconsideration of a year-old order that axed his bid for a new trial, finding it was clearly time-barred by local rules.
