Clock Starts On Maryland Daily Fantasy Sports Regulations

Law360, New York (January 4, 2017, 10:39 PM EST) -- Maryland has adopted a series of daily fantasy sports regulations, the state Office of the Comptroller announced Tuesday, becoming the latest state to regulate the industry amid uncertainty over the legality of contests.

The regulations, which went into effect Jan. 2, institute a number of consumer safeguards such as requiring operators to identify experienced players and barring operators from extending credit lines to any player.
