18 Athletes Sue Michigan State, USA Gymnastics Over Abuse
Law360, Los Angeles (January 10, 2017, 9:40 PM EST) -- Michigan State University, USA Gymnastics and a Lansing, Michigan-based gym were hit with a lawsuit Tuesday by 18 women who said the organizations looked the other way for years as a well-known orthopedic doctor molested and sexually assaulted them.
The women were athletes in programs including gymnastics, track and field and softball either at the university or in other local organizations when they were referred to Dr. Larry Nassar, who they said would touch them inappropriately, according to the suit, which also names local gymnastics group Twistars as a defendant.
