MLB, Facebook Reach Latest Sports Streaming Deal

Law360, New York (May 18, 2017, 5:51 PM EDT) -- Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred on Thursday said that the league has reached a deal with Facebook Inc. to stream games, as the league and others continue to experiment with new ways to show games and other sports content.

Facebook will stream Friday night games live to users within the U.S. without blackout restrictions beginning with a Colorado Rockies vs Cincinnati Reds game this Friday, Manfred told reporters after an owners meeting on Thursday. The deal encompasses 20 games this season, but more games are expected to be announced at a later date.
