PayPal Wins Bid To Force Charity Class Suit Into Arbitration

Law360 (June 13, 2018, 7:11 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge on Tuesday sent a proposed class action over how PayPal distributes charitable donations into arbitration, ruling the charities can't escape an arbitration provision in the payment website’s user agreement.

U.S. District Court Judge Robert W. Gettlemen concluded that the charities had to take the dispute to arbitration because they accepted PayPal Inc.’s user agreement and its arbitration clause when they created accounts with the site.
