Ex-Magyar Execs Must Face FCPA Claims In NY

Law360, Los Angeles (February 8, 2013, 6:24 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Friday threw out former Magyar Telekom PLC executives’ motion to dismiss the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act suit, finding that the New York court has personal jurisdiction over the case.

Friday’s order comes three weeks after a Jan. 17 oral argument over the former Hungarian telecommunications company executives’ motion to dismiss the suit for lack of jurisdiction because the alleged crimes took place overseas.
