Dell Hits Philips, Others With Cathode Ray Cartel Suit

Law360, New York (February 21, 2013, 3:38 PM EST) -- Dell Inc. sued units of Koninklijke Philips NV and others in Texas federal court Sunday, alleging they took part in a more-than-decadelong conspiracy to fix prices on cathode ray tubes used in computer monitors and televisions.

With its antitrust complaint against Philips Electronics North America Corp. and others, Dell becomes the latest to sue over alleged price-fixing of cathode ray tubes, which were often used in televisions and computer monitors prior to the introduction of more advanced flat-screen technology.
