Deals Rumor Mill: AT&T, Koninklijke, Pall Corp.

By Benjamin Horney (May 12, 2015, 7:43 PM EDT) -- AT&T Inc.'s proposed $48 billion merger with DirecTV will probably not be blocked by U.S. regulatory authorities, according to a Tuesday report from the Wall Street Journal. According to the report, both the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission are getting close to giving the deal the go-ahead, as long as certain conditions are met. The details of what those conditions might be were not disclosed, although negotiations are expected to begin "within a matter of days."  Last week, AT&T fired back at Netflix Inc., which has urged the FCC to consider blocking the deal, saying no evidence exists that the merger would hurt Netflix's business. ...
