Deals Rumor Mill: Verizon, Synaptics, Shanghai Pengxin

By Benjamin Horney (June 7, 2016, 3:40 PM EDT) -- Verizon Communications Inc. has likely put forward a roughly $3 billion second-round bid for the core internet business of Yahoo Inc., according to a report from The Wall Street Journal on Monday. According to the report, Verizon is the current front-runner in the race to buy Yahoo's core internet business, with other potential suitors including AT&T Inc. and TPG Capital. At least one more round of bidding is expected, the report said. Reports late last month said that Verizon had tapped Bank of America Corp., Guggenheim Partners LLC, LionTree LLC and Allen & Co. to assist as it attempts to scoop up all of Yahoo's core assets....
