Canadian High Court's Troubling Google Decision

Equustek Solutions Inc., the Supreme Court of Canada upheld an order requiring Google to deindex globally from its search results all websites belonging to Datalink Technology Gateways Inc., a defendant accused of selling counterfeit goods. The Equustek decision is the first time a national high court has mandated deindexing worldwide. But the case marks yet another, albeit uniquely troubling, instance in an increasing trend among courts ordering internet companies to remove material from their sites and services everywhere in the world....
