Waymo Denied Uber Board Member Depositions

Law360, New York (August 16, 2017, 1:36 PM EDT) -- Alphabet Inc.’s self-driving car unit Waymo LLC can’t depose two Uber Technologies Inc. board members who apparently lack meaningful information about allegations that the ride-sharing company stole self-driving car secrets, a California magistrate judge said Tuesday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said Waymo hasn’t backed its claims that Uber board member Arianna Huffington and former member David Bonderman have notable evidence, and neither were at an April 2016 meeting where the board approved the acquisition of Anthony Levandowski’s self-driving car company Otto Trucking LLC....
