Texas Co. Accused Of Willfully Infringing Hoverboard Patent

Law360 (March 27, 2019, 8:46 PM EDT) -- A Texas manufacturer is willfully infringing the hoverboard patents of a Chinese company that once licensed it the technology, according to a suit filed Tuesday.

Hangzhou Chic Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd., which holds three patents for various electric balance vehicles and self-balancing vehicles, said Gotrax is making and selling hoverboards that infringe the patents. Two other companies brought the suit along with Hangzhou Chic — Shenzhen Uni-Sun Electronic Co. Ltd., which currently holds an exclusive license for the patents in question, and California-based Unicorn Global Inc., which holds patent enforcement rights for the Chinese companies.
