Feds Clear Texas Plant To Store Nuclear Waste

Law360, New York (January 14, 2015, 5:57 PM EST) -- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has given the go-ahead for a Texas-based nuclear power plant to store spent fuel at its facility, according to a notice posted in the federal registry Tuesday.

STP Nuclear Operating Co. will be allowed to store the nuclear waste at its South Texas Project Electric Generating Station after the NRC granted a license modification to the facility’s independent spent fuel storage installation.
