Skadden Report A 'PR Tool,' Crisis Expert Says At Craig Trial

Law360 (August 19, 2019, 8:56 PM EDT) -- A global public relations strategy for a Skadden report about a politically sensitive prosecution in Ukraine had an ambitious goal: recast the government’s relationship with the European Union and open the door for Ukraine membership, a PR consultant testified Monday in the criminal trial of former Skadden partner Gregory Craig.

A key part of reaching that objective, PR crisis specialist Jonathan Hawker told a D.C. federal court, was having Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP's imprimatur on the so-called Tymoshenko report — and Craig standing behind it in the press.
