2 Ex-Chicago Area Officials Charged In Bribe Schemes

Law360, Chicago (June 28, 2012, 9:10 PM EDT) -- Two former Chicago-area public officials face charges that they used bribes in connection with the sale of public hospital business — allegations contained in three criminal complaints unsealed Thursday that also target five businessmen.

Former Cook County Commissioner Joseph Mario Moreno, 59, and former Chicago Alderman Ambrosio Medrano, 58, each face charges in two of the three unsealed complaints, while three businessmen are charged with taking part in one bribe scheme and two others face allegations that they participated in another.
