Sandusky Coverage Feud Continues With New Penn State Suit

Law360, New York (March 6, 2013, 6:45 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania State University on Tuesday launched another attack on Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association Insurance Co. over the insurer's alleged refusal to cover the school in the aftermath of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky's child sex scandal.

Penn State said it has paid millions of dollars for commercial general liability policies from PMA over the course of about 60 years, but when it sought coverage for lawsuits filed by Sandusky's victims, the insurer denied its claims.

"PMA failed or refused to agree to defend or indemnify Penn State with respect to any of the claims and lawsuits at issue in this complaint,"...
