Software Developer Pleads Guilty To Stealing Code

Law360, Los Angeles (May 19, 2017, 10:02 PM EDT) -- A software developer arrested in late 2015 has pled guilty to economic espionage and theft of a trade secret in connection with stolen source code from his former employer and his apparent efforts to sell it and use it for the Chinese government, prosecutors said Friday.

Jiaqiang Xu pleaded guilty to all six charged the government had levied against him, Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security Dana Boente said. Xu had been accused of lifting the proprietary source code used for a clustered file system...
