Another Navy Officer Faces 'Fat Leonard' Bribery Charges

Law360, Nashville (December 6, 2017, 8:18 PM EST) -- A U.S. Navy captain, the latest naval officer to face charges over a contract bribery scandal that has ensnared dozens of current and former officers, was arraigned Tuesday before a military court.

Capt. John F. Steinberger, a 30-year Navy veteran and former destroyer squadron commander currently serving in the Undersea Warfighting Development Center in San Diego, was arraigned before a Norfolk, Virginia, military court via video link, on charges of conspiracy, graft, bribery, violation of a lawful order, and conduct unbecoming an officer, according to the court record.
