Law360 (January 7, 2021, 9:38 PM EST) -- The White House withdrew the nomination for Chad Wolf, acting secretary of homeland security, to head the department in a permanent capacity, the same day Wolf condemned rioters who stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the presidential election results.
According to Congress' website, the nomination was yanked on Wednesday, the same day President Donald Trump's supporters breached the U.S. Senate and disrupted lawmakers' vote to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election. The White House confirmed the withdrawn nomination on Thursday.
