Funding Talks Fizzle After Trump Tweets 'Don't See A Deal'

Law360, Washington (November 28, 2017, 6:34 PM EST) -- Planned bipartisan talks about how to address next week's government funding deadline devolved into the two political parties criticizing each other Tuesday after President Donald Trump tweeted "I don't see a deal" with Democrats over spending and immigration issues.

The talks, planned while the Senate pushed to fast-track a tax bill, fell apart after Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that Democrats “want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes,” following that with, “I don’t see a deal!”...
