Young Broadcasting Ch. 11 Counsel Challenge Tossed

Law360, New York (May 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A New York federal judge has dismissed an appeal seeking to block Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP from representing Young Broadcasting Inc. in its Chapter 11 reorganization, finding the plaintiffs lack standing.

Thomas T. Allan Jr. and Hela Miodownik's challenge has no merit, Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ruled Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Neither Allan nor Miodownik is a "person aggrieved" by the orders of the bankruptcy court allowing the firm to represent the debtors, the ruling said,...
