Class Certified In San Diego Sex Bias Pension Suit

Law360, New York (May 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has certified a class in a Title VII disparate impact lawsuit against the city of San Diego alleging female city employees who retire unmarried get short shrift on pension benefits.

Judge Michael M. Anello of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California signed an order on Wednesday granting named plaintiff Janet Wood’s June 2 motion for class certification.
