Ga. Court Says Doc’s Murder Trial Needn’t Halt Civil Suit

Law360 (February 22, 2018, 4:50 PM EST) -- A Georgia appeals court ruled Wednesday that a criminal homicide case against a doctor is not reason enough to delay a parallel civil case that accuses the doctor of causing a woman's death by overprescribing medications.

The panel granted plaintiff John Austin’s appeal of the lower court’s order staying his civil case against physician Narendra Nagareddy and Psychiatry Associates of South Atlanta PC in the overdose death of his wife, Audrey Austin.
