Childproof Cannabis Packages Won't Impress Jeff Sessions

Law360 (March 2, 2018, 1:39 PM EST) -- A group calling itself the "first and only self-regulating organization in U.S. cannabis" announced last month a series of standards meant to "help protect consumers and demonstrate to regulators, financial institutions and the public that they operate at the highest level of ethics and responsibility." Such standards include labeling, child-resistant packaging, health warnings, ingredient lists and product origins.

According to a spokesperson for the National Association of Cannabis Businesses, the group wants to address federal government concerns that state laws can't protect consumers, presumably from the risks associated with recreational cannabis consumption.
