Dolby Sues Adobe Over Alleged Licensing Noncompliance

Law360 (March 12, 2018, 8:50 PM EDT) -- Sound technology company Dolby Laboratories accused Adobe Systems of refusing to comply with audits Dolby claims are required under an audio system licensing agreement in a copyright and contract suit filed in California federal court Monday.

Dolby says it allows its partners to self-report its sales of products that contain Dolby technology but, because its technologies are so widely adopted, it occasionally needs to rely on third-party audits to ensure that its being fairly compensated.
