NJ City Sued By Developer Over Rejected 90-Unit Project

By John Petrick (March 22, 2018, 9:04 PM EDT) -- The developer of a proposed 90-unit residential and retail complex has filed suit in New Jersey state court against the Union City Planning Board alleging it arbitrarily and capriciously rejected its plans to construct the project despite conforming to all local and state zoning laws.

Hudson Yards West LLC, a developer based in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and the owner of a 25,800-square-foot parcel in Union City's so-called Center City Core Zone, argues in its suit filed Tuesday that it specifically revised its site plan proposal since first applying to the board in 2016 to eliminate any objections.
