Order Limiting Immigration-Related Discovery Upheld

Law360, New York (May 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A New Jersey appeals court has largely upheld an order restricting discovery related to the legal status of putative class members in a wage-and-hour action, rejecting Utilities Corp. and Pipeline Equipment Co.'s argument that immigration-related information is fair game for the defense.

On Wednesday, the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, mostly affirmed a protective order that limits immigration-related discovery in a putative class action against the company to a set of 20 set questions.
