CalPERS Named Lead Plaintiff In UnitedHealth Suit

Law360, New York (September 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The California Public Employees’ Retirement System, the country’s largest pension fund, has been named lead plaintiff in the class action suit filed against heath care provider UnitedHealth Group Inc. over questionable options practices.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota appointed the fund lead plaintiff and named the firm representing the fund, Lerach Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins, lead counsel.

“We appreciate the opportunity to serve as lead plaintiff in this action against UnitedHealth,” said CalPERS General Counsel Peter Mixon.
