Deals Rumor Mill: Bayer, Viacom, Haidilao

By Adam Rhodes (April 9, 2018, 7:06 PM EDT) -- Bayer AG won approval from the U.S. Department of Justice of its planned $62 billion buyout of agrochemical company Monsanto Co., The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, weeks after getting approval from European antitrust enforcers. The European Commission cleared the deal in late March after Bayer agreed to unload seed, pesticide and agricultural technology assets to BASF SE. As part of its deal with the DOJ, Bayer will divest more seed and seed-treatment assets to BASF and will make additional concessions related to its digital agriculture unit, the WSJ reported....
