Lockheed Awarded $37M In Suit V. L-3 Unit

Law360, New York (May 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal jury has awarded nearly $37.3 million to Lockheed Martin Corp. after finding an L-3 Communications Corp. unit misused Lockheed’s trade secrets and breached licenses by refurbishing foreign P-3 propeller aircraft.

After a three-week trial, the jurors of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on Thursday determined that L-3 Communications Integrated Systems LP should pay $30 million for violating a state trade secrets law by misappropriating data owned by Lockheed, including company drawings, a manual and engineering reports.
